The Target Audience, Price and How Often It's Published

I am choosing Wyke college as the college for my magazine. This is bcause Wyke is a very good college, were you can work and have fun. Also the college campus is very impressive because it has new buildings, and very good facillities. Another reason why I chose Wyke for my college magazine, is simply because it will be easier for me to take photos as I am at the college for most of the week, so i can take pictures in my free periods or at luch time.  Members of Wyke college are E demographic. This means that students are either casual labourers or unemployed. Most people who attend Wyke have outer directed or inner directed Value Life Styles. Outer directed (VALS) mean that they are belongers, emulators and achievers. Whereas inner-directed (VALS) are experimentals, sociallity concious and they are themselves. Using 'Maslows Hierachy Of Needs' chart, I would class most people either in the social, esteem or self actualiseaon groups. This is beause most people at Wyke belong to part of a group(Social) i.e part of a goup in class or part of group in a sports team. The majority of students at Wyke also have admiration for others, and self esteem (Esteem). Pupils at Wyke also have the need to suceed, and become what they want to be (Self-Actualisation). Due to this reaseacrh i have decided that the target audience for my college magazine is going to be for people aged 16-19, as this is the age of people who go to Wyke college. My college magazine will be aimed at males and females because both males and females attend Wyke college. I am going to price my magazine at £1.50 per copy. This is because people at the ages of 16-19 generally don't have that much money so I didn't want to price my magazine too highly because otherwise no one would buy it. However I didn't want to price it too low, otherwise I would be ripping myself off, so I decided on a price in the middle. I am going to publish my magazine monthly, as this way there will be plenty to write about each month, and I can do monthly updates on the football, rugby and netball teams. I was originally thinking of doing a weekly magazine, but I decided not to because I don't think I would have enough to write about and the magazines would just be boring. I also think many people would begin to find the magazine a bit tedious if there was a new issue coming out every week. By it coming out monthly people should easily be able to spare £1.50 month to buy my college magazine.
