L: The photograph is a close up of the rapper T.I, he is making eye contact with the reader. He has his hands crossed and he has an angry look in his eyes as if he is not happy with someone. This draws the reader in because it makes you want to know why he is not happy, and who he is not happy with. Similarly to NME, the masthead is in a red, with a bold font. Red stands out to the reader because reds conatates danger so it immediately grabs your attention. The masthead is positioned at the top of the page, as it is in most magazines so you know that is the title of the magazine.
I: The publisher of Vibe Magazine is InterMedia Partners. They are a very small company, and they don't publish many magazines. They only bought a share in Vibe Magazine in 2009, because the magazine had closed down and they re-published the magazine.
I: Vibe Magazine is a Hip Hop and R&B magazine. So one of there values will be to inform readers about R&B/Hip Hop artists. I'm sure like other magazines, for example NME they want to tell the reader about up coming Hip Hop artists. I think there are a number of reasons why the magazine's name is Vibe. One of these could be that Vibe is a Hip Hop magazine and the name Vibe could be referring to a dance you might do in a club when listening to Hip Hop music. Or perhaps the name Vibe could be inferring that the magazine has a positive vibe.
A: Vibe Magazine predominantly aims at the young culture who follow the Hip Hop Scene. This is between 16-24.
R: In this copy of Vibe Magazine the featured artist is the rapper T.I. By the way he is looking at the camera I think the magazine is trying to make out that T.I is a bit rebellious. This point is backed up by the what T.I is quoted saying in the left third of the magazine. He is talking about not liking being compared to 'Tupac'. Vibe Magazine represents the overall genre of Hip Hop/ R&B in a very positive way. Vibe gives you information about big name artists like Kerri Hilson and Jay Z, and has interviews and special features on them.
